Black-headed Grosbeak
These pictures were taken at the house of Alvin Astrup in Greenwood, Louisiana near Shreveport on February 5, 2003.  Alvin first saw the bird on January 26, and has taken video of it since then.  He was gracious enough to allow us in his yard to see and photograph the bird.  These pictures were taken in his back yard in the rain at 4:45 p.m. when there was very little light.  You can see drops of water hanging from the birdfeeder.  The last day this bird was seen was February 6, 2003.
