Harris' Sparrow Harris' Sparrow
These two pictures were taken February 10, at the BSG bird banding field trip to Paul Dickson's Deer Farm in Shreveport, LA.   Jim Ingold banded two of these sparrows. Harris' Sparrows are present in northwest Louisiana every winter, but are usually difficult to find because they are here in small numbers.  They can usually be found in the same habitat that White-crowned Sparrows are found. So, if you see lots of White-crowned Sparrows, look for a Harris' Sparrow.
